Dr Lucas Low
Research Associate
Lucas works in injury biomechanics, with particular focus on computational human body modelling and experience in lab testing.
He is funded by TBI-REPORTER to improve motorcycle helmet safety. His current day-to-day involves analysing brain and skull injuries in motorcycle collision; as well as building up an evidence base of head impact conditions from real-world collisions, to define helmet test methods and a safety rating.
Lucas’ other research interests include spinal injury biomechanics, where he has conducted high rate mechanical testing of the spine. He is also an advocate of public engagement with STEM, having hosted schools outreach activities and brought both helmet science and spinal anatomy to science festivals around London.
