Who runs this site

headlab.org is run by HEAD Lab, led by Prof Mazdak Ghajari, at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London. The domain is separate from Imperial's own website, but the lab and its staff are part of the College, and any personal data collected is handled under that responsibility.

What the site itself collects

headlab.org is a static site: there is no database, no user accounts, and — as of this writing — no contact form. It does not run any analytics, advertising, or tracking script of its own. The only thing the site's own code stores is a single browser setting:

• Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device — it is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare's infrastructure processes standard connection information (such as IP address, browser type, and request timing) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. HEAD Lab does not receive or store this data separately; it is covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy .

Embedded content

A few pages embed content hosted by other companies. Each behaves differently:

• YouTube videos are click-to-play and load from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain. Nothing is requested from YouTube/Google until you press play; once you do, Google's own privacy policy applies to that playback.
• LinkedIn posts (on the homepage and News page) are LinkedIn's own official embeds, loaded in an iframe as that part of the page comes into view — not only when clicked. LinkedIn may set its own cookies or collect data from that embed under LinkedIn's privacy policy , whether or not you have a LinkedIn account.

If you email us

The site's "Email Us" links open an email to m.ghajari@imperial.ac.uk using your own email client. Any information you choose to send — your name, address, message content, or attachments — goes directly to that Imperial College London mailbox and is handled as part of Imperial's normal email systems, not stored on or processed by this website.

If what the site collects or embeds changes, this page will be updated and the date above will change. This page describes the site's actual technical practices; it is not a substitute for formal legal advice, and we are happy to clarify anything on it.
