Vahid Darvishi

PhD Student

Vahid is a PhD researcher in HEAD Lab working on computational models of the head to investigate a wide range of neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury (TBI) and hydrocephalus (iNPH), in collaboration with clinicians and neuroscientists at Imperial and the UK Dementia Research Institute. He leads the PARS project, an open-source pipeline that converts a standard MRI scan into a simulation-ready finite element head model, automating a process that previously required manual refinement for patient-specific modelling. He also works on axonal injury, which is central to many neurological conditions, by introducing axonal anatomy into the models.
